Uses

Environmentally friendly solvent with low toxicity, low viscosity and low surface tension. It has a moderate evaporation rate and good solvency and coupling ability. Widely used as a solvent for coatings, inks and dyes, and as a component of brake fluid. It can also be used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose and polyvinyl acetate; as a coupling agent in waterborne coatings; and in household and industrial cleaners, metal cleaners, hard surface cleaners, screen printing inks, etc.
